Dior Joaillerie’s Diorama & Diorigami High Jewellery collection invites us into a dreamlike woodland world, where fine craftsmanship meets poetic storytelling. The first chapter, Diorama, draws inspiration from Christian Dior’s Milly-la-Forêt garden and the historic toile de Jouy fabric, transforming these pastoral themes into miniature sculptural scenes crafted in gold, gemstones, and lacquer.
Under the creative direction of Victoire de Castellane, Diorama brings forest creatures to life—squirrels, rabbits, owls, and fawns carved from chrysoprase—nestled among gemstone-dusted branches and sapphire ponds. The standout Diorama Forêt Enchantée necklace, featuring a 16.16-carat Colombian emerald and over 4,700 hours of craftsmanship, showcases Dior’s commitment to glyptic artistry and intricate gold engraving.
Lacquer plays a starring role, with vibrant hues adding depth and character to leaves, animals, and floral motifs. One necklace, centred on a Mozambique ruby, sparkles with lacquered owls, ruby ‘trees,’ and a hedgehog in mid-step—blurring the line between jewellery and fairytale illustration.
Goldwork is explored through techniques like sand-blasting, mirror-polishing, and openwork, seen in the Résille Dorée pieces, which resemble delicate golden nets adorned with birds and blossoms. Unconventional forms, including headbands and transformable belts, expand the collection’s artistic reach.
The second chapter, Dorigami, shifts from nature to abstraction, inspired by origami and couture pleating. Its debut pieces combine malachite leaves, coloured gemstones, and lacquer in bold, geometric designs.
Together, Diorama & Diorigami celebrate the Maison’s ability to fuse heritage with innovation, offering jewellery that is as imaginative as it is exquisite. This collection doesn’t just tell a story—it invites you to wear one.
