An exceptional high-performance chronometer
Introducing the exceptional pace of the Ocean Star 600 Chronometer, where adrenaline surges in time with split-second feats. Its lacquered dial, featuring a gradient of blue to black, recalls the colours of the deepest waters. Equipped with a helium valve, this diving watch – Mido’s only timepiece designed to withstand a pressure of 60 bar (600 m/1,968 ft) – embodies a wealth of technological expertise. The blue ceramic bezel features numerals with Super-LumiNova Grade X®, offering ultra-powerful and long-lasting luminescence to ensure perfect readability in the ocean’s depths. The ultra-accurate Ocean Star 600 Chronometer is powered by the Calibre 80 Si, which is certified by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC – Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute). Fitted with a silicon balance-spring, it offers extreme sports enthusiasts exceptional accuracy and shock-resistance, as well as a power reserve of up to 80 hours.
Architecture that withstands winds and tides
At Europe’s southernmost tip stands an architectural construction built to withstand any storm, that has unfailingly watched over the Gibraltar Strait since 1841: the Europa Point Lighthouse. Its powerful beam of light helps sailors to find their bearings on the often rough waters between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Created by Mido in 1944, the Ocean Star collection is characterised by its reliability, just like this monument, which was built to safely guide men embarking on new maritime conquests.
Ultra-functional and accurate
The new Ocean Star 600 Chronometer rises to any challenge. On the deep blue dial featuring a gradient of blue to black, white Super-LumiNova Grade X® adorns every part of the display for perfect readability in the dark: the nickel-plated indexes, the large triangle at 12 o’clock, all three hands, and all the markings on the unidirectional rotating bezel with its blue ceramic ring. To guard against unintentional adjustments, a secure rotation system keeps it locked in place – the bezel must be pressed down to enable rotation. Lastly, an aperture displays the date at 3 o’clock.
The robust stainless steel case of the Ocean Star 600 Chronometer alternates polished and satin-finished surfaces to create a captivating play of light. A helium valve at 9 o’clock offers greater safety during decompression when returning from great depths. The bracelet also made from polished and satin-finished stainless steel, has a clasp complete with diving extension.
Exceptional performance
The Ocean Star 600 Chronometer is a superlative diving watch that incorporates the best in timekeeping. The COSC-certified Caliber 80 Si combines an exceptional autonomy of up to 80 hours of power reserve with extraordinary accuracy and shock-resistance thanks to its silicon balance-spring. Equipped with a helium valve, this diving watch withstands a pressure of 60 bar (600 m/1,968 ft). Symbolising Mido’s water-resistance expertise, an engraved starfish adorns the case back.
Evermore robust, accurate and reliable, the Ocean Star 600 Chronometer is designed to accompany men wherever they choose to push beyond their limits.
