U.S. stages historic comeback to win 2026 Presidents Cup at Medinah
The United States produced a remarkable Sunday singles comeback to defeat the International Team and capture the 2026 Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club, extending its winning streak in the competition to 11 consecutive victories.
Trailing 10½–7½ heading into the final 12 matches, the Americans delivered a dominant performance, winning nine matches and halving another. Their seven-point singles advantage marked the largest in Presidents Cup history, rescuing captain Brandt Snedeker after his team entered the final session facing a three-point deficit.
Cameron Young set the tone with a 3-and-2 victory over Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune, while world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler finished the week with a career-best 3-1 Presidents Cup record. Justin Thomas also celebrated his first singles victory in the competition, winning 5 and 3.
The International Team had surged ahead after sweeping Friday’s foursomes matches, but the Americans rallied over the weekend to complete a historic turnaround and retain their dominance in the Presidents Cup.
Doan earns third ASUN Golfer of the Week honors
Stetson University sophomore Uy Doan earned his third ASUN Men’s Golfer of the Week honor of the fall season after recording his fourth consecutive top-10 finish at The Bryson Invitational earlier this week.

A native of Hanoi, Vietnam, Doan carded rounds of 74-70-70 to finish at 2-under-par 214 and tie for eighth place on the par-72, 7,590-yard Blue Monster Course at Trump National Doral. He ranked third in the field in par-5 scoring and fifth in par-3 scoring over the 54-hole tournament.
Doan has competed in four tournaments this fall, earning two individual championships and a share of fifth place in addition to his top-10 finish at Doral. Eleven of his 12 rounds this season have been at par or better, including eight rounds in the 60s. He ranks 36th in the initial national rankings released earlier this week.
The Hatters concluded their fall season at Doral and will return to action Feb. 7 at the Compadres Collegiate in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Stetson has five regular-season tournaments on its spring schedule, including a pair of events at LPGA International in Daytona Beach. The Hatters will also compete at the Seminole Intercollegiate in Tallahassee and the Seahawk Intercollegiate in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Steven Alker bests Michael Block again to win Lehigh Valley Classic
New Zealander Steven Alker closed with a 4-under 66 on Sunday to win the Jefferson Lehigh Valley Classic at 14 under, one shot ahead of Tag Ridings. The victory marks the fourth time that Alker has reached the winner’s circle this season, while increasing his career total to 14 titles on the PGA Tour Champions.

Michael Block shot a bogey-free 63 on Saturday to gain a one-shot lead over Alker, but Alker caught him for the second time in five weeks. The final-group pairing was a rematch of the Ally Challenge in August, where Block lost a two-shot lead to Alker. Alker went on to win by three shots, making it back-to-back victories after his win at the Rogers Charity Classic a week prior.
Vijay Singh, 63, becomes second-oldest player to win on PGA Tour Champions
Vijay Singh became the second-oldest player to win on the PGA Tour Champions on Sunday when the 63-year-old Fijian closed with a 3-under 69 for a two-shot victory in the SAS Championship.

Singh made four birdies in a six-hole stretch around the turn to get in front of a crowded leaderboard and then left the mistakes to everyone else while closing with six straight pars to win by two over Ernie Els.
Bernhard Langer is the only other player older than Singh to win on the 50-and-older circuit. Langer won at age 67, and the German has five other Champions Tour titles at 64 or older.
A 34-time winner on the PGA Tour, it was only his sixth PGA Tour Champions title and first in just over three years. Singh did not have a top 10 finish all year until winning Sunday.
Matt Fitzpatrick cruises to FedEx Open de France victory for fourth win of 2026
If Matt Fitzpatrick had a choice, he’d likely take a day like he had Sunday every single time he teed it up in a professional golf event.

Fitzy won the FedEx Open de France on the DP World Tour by three shots, closing in 70 at Le Golf National outside of Paris, which hosted the 2018 Ryder Cup and 2024 Olympic golf competition. Fitzpatrick entered the day with a five-shot lead and cruised to victory, a bogey on the 72nd hole only the second blemish on his scorecard all week. He finished at 20 under, the only player to reach that total all week. The win is his 15th worldwide victory and fourth of 2026.
Angel Hidalgo finished solo second and earned a spot in the 155th Open Championship at St. Andrews next summer via the Open Qualifying Series. Defending champion Michael Kim tied for seventh at 14 under.
Adrian Meronk holds nerve to win Alfred Dunhill Links Championship
LIV Golf’s Adrian Meronk held his nerve over a blustery Old Course at St Andrews to claim a two-shot victory in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

The 33-year-old Pole – among the DP World Tour members allowed to play in conflicting LIV Golf tournaments under the 2026 Conditional Release Agreement – made the most of overnight leader Casey Jarvis seeing his challenge fade to finish with a 68 for a 20-under total.
Denmark’s Niklas Norgaard finished with a four-under-par round to claim a share of second place alongside Jarvis. Elsewhere, Tommy Fleetwood produced a superb bogey-free final round of eight-under 64, the lowest of the day, to surge up the leaderboard into a tie for third, three shots behind Meronk.
Defending champion Robert MacIntyre finished with a 68 to sit at 16 under in a share of sixth alongside Brooks Koepka, who had two eagles, at the ninth and last, in his 66.
Grant Forrest wins Spanish Open to secure two major invitations
Scotland’s Grant Forrest claimed a memorable victory at the 2026 Open de España presented by Madrid, earning invitations to the 2027 Masters Tournament and the 155th Open Championship at St Andrews.

Forrest birdied the final hole to finish ahead of Spanish favourite Eugenio Chacarra, whose impressive charge nearly forced a playoff. Chacarra produced a remarkable five-under-par front nine, including a 47-foot birdie putt and an eagle, before finishing with a birdie at the 18th to set the clubhouse target at 13 under par.
The triumph marked Forrest’s first DP World Tour victory outside Scotland, adding to his previous wins at the 2021 Hero Open and 2025 Nexo Championship.
After missing four consecutive cuts before arriving in Madrid, the Scot described the victory as surreal. The result transformed a difficult season into a career-defining moment, opening the door to two of golf’s most prestigious major championships.
